5 boundaries I set in my marketing agency

Getting the right work/life balance is something many of us struggle with. It can be an especially difficult struggle when you run your own business.

Being responsible for everything means having a never-ending to-do list and plenty of opportunity to work around the clock. The solution? Boundaries. Business boundaries can be set to protect you in the way you work and also to protect your clients from encroaching on your time and resources.

It took me years to get to the point in my business where I realised I needed boundaries, but once I started to set them and felt the effects, there was no looking back. Here are 5 of the boundaries I’ve set in my marketing agency that keep me sane, on-track and making a profit year-on-year.

1. I am not always available. The marketing, consulting or training that I do for my clients is not a ‘round-the-clock service. Whilst I may prefer to work unsociable hours (hello, insomnia *waves*) I do not allow clients to contact me at all hours of the day or night. In fact, I have days where I’m not contactable at all.
